Welcome to Loretto Nursery where we provide stimulating & inspiring childcare for children aged from birth to five years.

Based in Musselburgh alongside the lovely river Esk, our nursery is within easy access of both Loretto Junior and Upper Schools, and just minutes away from the town center by foot.

At Loretto Nursery we place children at the heart of everything we do and are committed to providing a learning environment where children feel valued and have great fun with a range of activities each week. We have a fantastic staff team who nurture close relationships with families and children in our care.

We provide an engaging atmosphere to encourage every child's development in a caring and family-orientated environment. Playrooms within our recently refurbished nursery are light and airy, generously proportioned, carefully planned and extensively resourced to create inspiring learning environments in which children can grow and learn with confidence.

Each of our playrooms have access to large outdoor play areas, offering the opportunity for regular outdoor learning opportunities across all areas of the curriculum. Staff and children also make use of our fantastic seaside setting, with lots of walks and outdoor play.

Callum Robertson - Nursery Manager

Our Head of Centre, Callum Robertson, has a wealth of childcare knowledge and experience, covering all ages and in a variety of settings.  He developed a wide range of skills by working closely with other health and childcare professionals and has worked with children with complex needs.

Callum manages his nursery to provide children with a wide variety of stimulating opportunities and believes that the children should be an active part of the community.  We strongly encourage children’s independence and supporting their ability to self regulate and manage their play.

At Loretto, we pride ourselves on the close relationships we build with our families and the care and support we give to all our children, in keeping with our belief that this should be responsive and appropriate to the individual child and their stage of development.

Ruth Morrice - Deputy Manager

Ruth has worked with Loretto since 2008. She started out doing her training in our After-School Club and when the nursery opened in 2016 she decided to move across. Ruth has two little girls of her own and enjoys family life in North Berwick. She has worked her way up from trainee to now Deputy Manager so knows the nursery inside out, from all aspects.  Ruth brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to role and we couldn’t be anymore delighted to have her join the management team.
